Very abundant in the lagoons on the western coast. Also off "La Possession". Intensively fished in lagoons - although it is forbiden - with a technic called "la gaulette", and sold along the roads. Gaulette: Catch at sight with a mask and a short rod ("gaulette") where the bait is presented in the front of the fish (Ref. 89967).

Common depth: 0-10 m (Ref. 89967).

Common length: 10 cm (Ref. 89967).

Common weight: < 0.2 kg (Ref. 89967). Museum: Camp Militaire, La Saline, lagoon, LEMUR uncat. (30) (14 specimens). LEMUR uncat. (1 specimen). La Possession, MHNRUN 324. MNHN A.7714 (1 dry specimen), 1973-0065, 1987-0041, 1988-0431, 1998-0502, 1998-0503. SMNS 20726, 20777 (Ref. 33390).
